Day 3: "My day with Spiderman"

After coming home and sleeping for a good majority of the afternoon yesterday, we decided to go to the grocery store and Stephanie was domestic and cook dinner and we went out for a night on the town. We started out the night at Mamma Africa, which is one of the coolest bars in Cape Town, it had a very cool African theme- anyway, we sat at the bar and ordered a drink and then the bartender poured 4 shots. When he put them down, we were like "Um, we didn't order these" and he goes "Oh, no that guy right here ordered them for you" We were like, "Cool, I guess" So we take the shots and the guy was like "Y'all did pretty well" And I looked at him and said "Are you surprised? We're from Louisiana" So then, I guess that was a challenge- out next shot bought by the guy was called a Flaming Oxwagon, a crazy concoction of all kinds of alcohols set on fire that you take with a straw... it was crazy, and not the best tasting thing I've come across but its whatever...

So come to find out the guy giving us the drinks, not only works at the bar, his dad owns it. Before finding this out, we asked him if he was working all night and if he wanted to come out with us, he accepted and took us out to Chrome, which had a very chic style to it. We ended up VIP, don't know how but again, super legit. After the night was over our new friend, Dovi, took us home and a quick pit stop for McDonalds on the way. He stuck around and hung out with for a while. It was good to talk to him and see someone else's point of view of what's going on in our world, and it was almost a relief to be around someone from the area who wasn't poverty-stricken.

Today, we went back to the township- but not to sleep, just to play. We played with the kids and just had a blast. I danced and face painted so many South African flags today it was almost ridiculous, but they loved every second of it, so it was again, so worth it. I got to see Wylan again and we had a good time, again. Tomorrow we are going back again to cook them dinner and stuff so hopefully we don't have a repeat of last time and the noodle fiasco.

Travel on,

Seth
